The Gen Art Film Festival presented by Acura is a week-long celebration of North America’s most promising emerging filmmakers. Year after year, we invite celebrities, critics, industry professionals and die-hard film-lovers to experience 7 nights of Premieres and Parties in New York City’s hottest venues. Each premiere is followed by an after-party at one of the city’s most exclusive nightspots where filmmakers and audience members come together over a two hour open bar.
This year, Gen Art will be returning to the Ziegfeld Theater for its Gala Opening Party, followed by an after-party at The Park. The run of the festival will be at the SVA Theater on West 23rd Street and complimentary beer and wine will be offered prior to all premieres.
Since its creation in 1996, Gen Art has had the pleasure of introducing our audience to a multitude of cutting-edge directors including Cary Fukunaga, Brad Anderson, Adrienne Shelly, Richard Shepard, The Duplass Brothers, Alex Holdridge, Brian Dannelly, Four Eyed Monsters, Azazel Jacobs, The Martini Brothers, Michael Skolnik & Paola Mendoza, Austin Chick, George Ratliff, Ari Gold, Tim Blake Nelson, Kevin Bacon, Fisher Stevens and Alan Cumming.
And the festival has played host to well known acting talent including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Christian Slater, Alec Baldwin, Adrian Brody, Kerry Washington, Kyra Sedgwick, Zoeey Deschanel, Samuel L. Jackson, Mandy Moore, Zach Braff, Colin Farrell and many others.
